Starbucks

Starbucks is a global coffeehouse chain that has grown to become one of the largest and most influential in the world. They offer customers a wide range of beverages, including espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, teas, and speciality concoctions like Frappuccinos.

Disclaimer: Starbucks, the Starbucks logo, and the Starbucks Frappuccino are registered trademarks of Starbucks Corporation. This recipe is a homemade copycat version and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Starbucks.

Ingredients

Ingredients on a table: milk, crushed caramels, coffee, caramel sauce and ice.
  • Ice: Provides the chilly texture that makes Frappuccinos so refreshing.
  • Milk: Adds a creamy and smooth consistency to the beverage, complementing the coffee and caramel flavors.
  • Brewed Coffee: Offers a robust coffee base that serves as the foundation of the Frappuccino. Just make your favorite coffee and let it go cold.
  • Caramel Sauce: Brings a delectable sweetness and a rich caramel flavor that elevates the drink. Buy a can or make your own homemade caramel sauce.
  • Whipped Cream: Provides a velvety and creamy topping, adding to the overall indulgence.
  • Crushed Hard Caramel Candies: Offers a delightful crunch and an extra burst of caramel flavor. I use Werther's original hard caramel candies and crush them up with a Ziploc bag and rolling pin.

See the recipe card for quantities.

Variations

While the classic Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino is a treat on its own, here are a few variations to explore and customize according to your taste:

  • Chocolate Delight: Add a tablespoon of chocolate syrup to the blender for a luscious caramel-chocolate fusion.
  • Nutty Bliss: Sprinkle crushed roasted nuts, such as almonds or pecans, on top of the whipped cream for an added layer of texture and flavor.
  • Extra Caffeine Boost: For those in need of an extra kick, incorporate a shot of espresso into the blender along with the cold brewed coffee.

Top tips

Crushed Caramel Candies: To crush the hard caramel candies, place a few of them in a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin to break them into small pieces. This will create the perfect crunchy texture.

Blending Consistency: Blend the ice, milk, coffee, and caramel sauce until the mixture is not-quite-smooth. This will allow for a bit of texture in the Frappuccino.

Caramel Drizzle: For an added touch of indulgence, drizzle a little caramel sauce along the edges of the serving glasses before pouring in the caramel Frappuccino.

FAQ

Can I make this Frappuccino without coffee?

While coffee contributes to the signature flavor profile of this beverage, you can omit it if you prefer a caffeine-free version. Simply skip the brewed coffee and proceed with the rest of the ingredients. Alternatively, use decaf coffee.
