This mulled wine spritzer is a fun twist on the Christmas classic drink. Rather than a hot drink, I've put this Christmas cocktail on ice and given it a bit of fizz! Perfect for a party.
Christmas Mulled Wine Cocktail
You can make your own mulled wine for this Christmas cocktail (as is in the recipe), but if you're short on time then feel free to 'cheat' by buying premade mulled wine from the supermarket.
Then you simply need to fancy it up!
Easy and still a tasty and showstopping Christmas cocktail. It's perfect for New Years too.
It's nice to have the flavours of mulled wine, but diluted and cold. It's a fun change.
Christmas Drinks
At this time of year, I always look forward to the surge in parties and get-togethers.
As soon as the mince pies spring up in the shops and the festive tunes start playing in the shops, I want to gather around my nearest and dearest.
Food, drinks, music and loved ones. What could be better than that?
This party season, we've got a few little bashes planned already, but I fully expect to have quite a few impromptu parties.
It's cold outside, so I love to light the fire, pour the drinks and chat until the wee hours.
Holiday Cocktails
My wine cellar is fully stocked (I actually have a wine cellar - I love this old house!) and ready for guests.
I try to keep a supply of ice for cocktails and some nice glasses for impromptu parties.
We also have our annual Guilty Pleasures party at Christmas where our friends get together and try to outdo each other with out best-of-the-worst tunes.
These Mulled Wine Spritzers will make an appearance this year!

Mulled Wine Spritzer
Now, it's not a cocktail party without a cocktail.
Sure, as it's Christmas I could have gone down the mince pie and mulled wine route, but it's a bit soon for that, and although mulled wine is gorgeous, it's not really great for a party.
But I still wanted that festive feel, so I turned mulled wine into a sparkling cocktail.
I loved how it turned out.
It's not heavy at all, and diluting the mulled wine with lemonade (Sprite/7up to my North American readers) makes it a fun and easy drink.
I wanted a touch of luxury, so I served the cocktails in champagne flutes and added frozen raspberries! Voila - a mulled wine spritzer!

hi, I saw this a few days ago on twitter. We had friends over last night for pre-Christmas drinks so I got a few boxes of the lemon tarts (and the sushi!) from iceland. Thanks for reminding me about them. I hadn't been into them for a while but they really do tasty party food. I was going to make the cocktail but cheated and topped up a bottle of premade mulled wine with lemonade! Tasted yummy.

This sounds like an amazing cocktail, I have never tried mulled wine before so will have to try it during the festive season

I think Iceland have really upped their game with their ranges, both desserts and normal food. The Festive range is more comprehensive than ever and the quality is outstanding!
I love the idea of the Mulled Wine cocktail as I love Mulled Wine but find too many glasses can go to the head! Diluting it with lemonade and adding fruit is a fab idea and one I will be testing out this Christmas x

The ranges really are getting fab, aren't they!

Not the biggest fan of mulled wine, I have to say, but my hubby would lap this recipe up! Thanks for sharing 🙂 xx
