Leaves. Irish Moss (chondrus crispus) is also known as carrageen moss. Despite the name, it isn't actually a moss, but is an algae or seaweed. It is a species of red algae that can be found growing on the Atlantic coast of Europe and North America. Considered to have numerous health benefits, it is often taken as a tonic. Italian Red Onion
Roots. Italian Red Onions (Cipolla Rossa di Tropea) are a variety of onion with a purple/red exterior and white inside. It has a stronger and sweeter taste/aroma than other onions. It is produced in Capo Vaticano, near Tropea in southern Italy. Try it in this Onion Tarte Tatin.
Italian Sweet Pepper
Fruits. Italian Sweet Peppers are similar to bell peppers or capsicum but have a longer shape and a sweeter taste, without the bitter aftertaste the other varieties can have. They can be eaten raw or cooked.

Fruits. Ivy gourd (Coccinia grandis) is also known as scarlet gourd, kowai fruit or tindora. The tropical vine grows in tropical climates, and is popular in Indian, Thai and Malaysian cuisines. Ivy Grourd have a crunchy texture and can be eaten cooked or raw. Although it is botanically a fruit, it is cooked like a vegetable. Try it in this Ivy Gourd Stir Fry.
